The Twelfth Imam by Joel C. Rosenberg is an end-times thriller with lots of twists and turns. This book follows American, David Shirazi, from childhood and the tragedy of September 11,2001 to adulthood as a CIA agent hunting down Bin Laden then being told to change his target to Iran and it's nuclear ambitions. Little does he know there are forces beyond his understanding working in Iran and the Islamic faith's long awaited Messiah or "Twelfth Imam" is ready to take his place in the Muslim world.  Although he doesn't understand it all, it's up to David to stop this evil before it's too late.


The Twelfth Imam is a book that is hard to put down. Full of action and suspense as well as biblical prophecy, Joel keeps you guessing throughout the entire book. Joel does a wonderful job with character development, I really wanted to know what was going to happen to each character next. This book also challenged me to think of how difficult those in the Islamic world have it when it comes to hearing, reading, finding Truth( as in the Word of God). I highly recommend this book to others.

Living With Confidence in a Chaotic World by Dr. David Jeremiah is a wonderful book! I think we can all agree that we live in chaotic times. This book is about applying biblical principles to your life when you live in days that "try the soul". Dr. David Jeremiah takes Scripture and inspiring stories and uses them to encourage believers that with the Lord's wisdom we can live confidently through turbulent times.

Living With Confidence in a Chaotic World spoke to me on many levels. Dr. Jeremiah encourages us not to give up, to instead, stay calm, compassionate, constructive, challenged, connected, centered, confident, consistent, committed, and convinced. As the Body of Christ, we should handle the world's heavy burdens differently, because we have, among many other things, a secure future in eternity, through our relationship with Jesus. This book encouraged me, kept my attention, and challenged me. Dr. David Jeremiah is an excellent author and is scripturally solid. I highly recommend this book. I look forward to reading his next book" The Coming Economic Armageddon".

Movie Review: Letters to God

 Letters to God is a heart-warming story about an eight-year-old boy, named Tyler, living with cancer and his stead-fast faith in Jesus. Although Tyler's faith seems to be unshakeable, his mom and brother struggle with their trust in God's  wisdom, and the journey that may lead to his death. Meanwhile, enter a neighborhood postman, Brady, that has many struggles of his own. First, he is an alcoholic and second he has lost custody of his son. Tyler talks out his struggles by writing letters to God, through which we see how unshakeable his faith is and also how much he cares about those around him. Brady is not sure what to do with these letters addressed simply, TO: GOD, his supervisor suggests it's up to him, so he begins reading them. What happens next will take you on a journey of emotions, from laughter to tears then to a place of wonderment of steadfast faith. Tyler's whole neighborhood, his best friend as well as his arch enemy from school are touched by his true display of trust in God. Letters to God is a tear-jerker, an inspiration and a great family film, based on a true story. I would recommend this for families with children eight and up because it deals with alcoholism and death. Mom's, have the tissues handy! CoUnTdOwN 4,3,2,1....

Jesus said ," Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,  for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14  Four years, it's a countdown for our family. My oldest will be graduated and off to the real world, in a short four years. Then my next oldest- just a year later. I've heard it said my whole life, but, how time flies! I try not to dwell on the fact that my children are very close to adulthood. I say all this to encourage all my friends and followers that are moms of young ones, to make sure you invest as much time as possible in you're sweet blessings! This time can never be recaptured. I have never heard a person, when grown, recall the dirty dishes left over-night or how dust bunnies and cobwebs changed their childhood.  Great relationships with parents and time with them makes all the difference. Take sweet moments to hold your little son and play dolls with your toddler daughter. After all, that little pile of dishes will be waiting for you later, but your little children won't be little long.

Nothing New Under the Sun...or Moon

 ‎"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness...." Isaiah 5:20 Being a parent is hard, and being a christian parent sometimes has greater challenges. Our world is changing and although "there's nothing new under the sun"(Eccl.1:9), America has changed over the last thirty years and it's going in the wrong direction if you ask me. As believers we are called to a higher standard and that includes our decisions as parents. I have a daughter that is a "tween" she is the typical 11 year old  girl -in that she likes to read, paint her nails, do her hair and watch chick flicks, but she doesn't read the "Twilight" saga or watch the movies. It's a decision I made as a parent and I'm sticking to my guns. I did not gain this wisdom on my own, it comes from the Word of God. We should not expect non-believers to understand or believe what we do, but we should live out our faith no matter what. Our children are watching, and we should treat God's word as absolute truth, it contains boundaries He has set for us. Psalm 127:3 Behold children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. God's word.... absolute TRUTH! I start this blog with hopes to offer  tips on parenting  and encouragement for moms,  plus family friendly movie reviews in mind. I hope to be able to offer great suggestions as well as some wisdom gained in my almost 15 years of parenting. I have found that as each parenting hurdle comes up, if I stop, ask for wisdom and listen for His still-small voice, those hurdles don't seem so big or impossible. For all of my sweet friends who are on the starting end of the race, there are a lot of coughs, tummy aches and fevers; sleepless nights, crying for no apparent reason and piles of endless laundry ahead. Still, these days are so sweet and precious, they will be gone before you know it, so take each moment and try to savour it, mark it in your memory. Feel free to post any questions you may have, I will try my best to answer them.  Children ARE a blessing, thank you Lord Jesus for such an awesome privilege of being a blessed mom!
